As a whole, we authorize important traditional agriculture (including forestry, fishery) and biological diversity, tradition knowledge, farm village culture, agriculture scenery which should be inherited in structure which United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO, headquarters Italy Rome) started in 2002 in the next generation and plan the maintenance and sustained utilization.

Not "past inheritance," it is said to be "living inheritance" that continues evolving while adapting itself to various environmental changes. Sites (at place authorized to world agriculture inheritance) such as Peru, Chile, China, Philippines, Algeria, Tanzania were authorized, and approach native to area was performed each, and, even in Japan, Shizuoka, Aso, Kunisaki were authorized Sado and Noto newly for the first time until now as developed country in 2013 in 2011. As of February, 2014, 25 sites are authorized in the world.
